Giving Love with The Music
Jimmy DePre began his professional DJ career in his hometown of Philadelphia in 2002 at the age of 15, landing a job with iconic radio personality and DJ, Jerry Blavat. Over the next 6 years, he worked some of the best bars, nightclubs, casinos, and annual festivals in the Philadelphia/New Jersey area, as well as private events in Fort Lauderdale & Los Angeles. Going solo in 2008, he held two residences in both Philadelphia and New Hope before being asked to be the Friday & Saturday night DJ at Tavern on Camac in 2009, a booth he occupied every weekend until July 2018 when he moved to San Francisco. In July 2017, Philadelphia Magazine also voted Tavern on Camac the best dance spot in Philadelphia. Jimmy’s eclectic taste and knowledge in all styles of house, disco, funk and soul, combined with his innate ability to read a crowd, has allowed him to work many different types of venues and parties over the years. He’s played in NYC, Atlantic City, Rehoboth Beach, Boston, San Francisco, DC, Connecticut and on Fire Island. In 2014, legendary Trocadero Transfer DJ, Bobby Viteritti, brought him on as a featured resident for his monthly Classics Never Die party at Meridian 23 in New York. Through the years, Jimmy DePre has shared the bill with many DJs and friends including Razor N Guido, Susan Morabito, Robbie Tronco, Shane Stiel, Corey Craig, Michael Fierman, Robbie Leslie, Warren Gluck, Kevin Aviance, Sandy B, Deborah Cox and others, as well as playing Tea Dances for Shep Pettibone. More recently, Jimmy has done guest spots in San Francisco at Lookout, Polyglamorous, and Go BANG! Always being one for editing music to his own liking, he’s recently took on remixing, having his first official remix (with Paul Goodyear) released in 2016 for the band Grapefruit Sound Lab on KID Records and is currently working on original productions alongside Jeremy Rosebrook.
