When it comes to 2 man duos of the 90’s, my belief that as DJ/Producer go, M.C Pete Rock and C.L. Smooth don’t get enough credit. With the competition of Eric B/Rakim, Dj Premier/Guru (Gangstarr), EPMD, Jazzy Jeff/Fresh Prince/ Slick Rick/Doug E Fresh/ Pete Rock and C.L. Smooth don’t get their just deserves. Pete Rock has to go down as one of the founding fathers of the sampling/beatmaking/mcing genre. He really helped paved the way for dj’s to become crate digging, producer phenoms. P’Rock, DJ Premier, 9th Wonder, Jazzy Jeff, J-Dilla, Dr.Dre, Dj Quick to name a few laid the foundation for the producers who claim to fame today.
That said, lyrically C.L. Smooth, I believe can hold his microphone against any of the all time spitters. My belief is that Smooth, AZ, Black Thought and Redman are the most underrated lyrical heads of their generation…who are overlooked. Smooth really lives up to his name and when you listen to this ear candy you can see why I hold this brother to such high acclaim.
The group Pete Rock and C.L. Smooth have gone through their share of ups and downs, as any great relationship does. The 2 split up over differences in 1995. After the split Pete Rock, whose work with CL had garnered him a reputation as one of the most acclaimed producers in hip-hop, went on to produce and remix tracks for dozens of marquee-name and well-respected acts in the music industry. He also continues to release solo and instrumental albums that are very well received by the industy. CL Smooth remained musically inactive and tours doing music with live instrumentation world wide and is still highly respected as one of the best spitters to ever bless a mic cord.
Although the 2 are still at odds the Hip Hop world looks forward to them creating that soul magic to work together in the future,. Til then, I bring to you, Black Diamond style, “Da Return of Mecca N Da Soul Brother” Pete Rock and C.L. Smooth…lyrical excellence combined with musical mastery. Ladies N Gentlemen…njoy the ear candy experience of MECCA N DA SOUL BROTHER!!!!

https://hearthis.at/mv9krd6f/shea-butta-soul-sessions-jon-b-meets-donell-jones/
If you are unfamiliar Jon B. aka White Chocolate aka Booogotti first hit the scene in the early 90's as a songwriter for Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds and wrote songs for a slew of artists including After 7, Toni Braxton, Michael Jackson and Color Me Bad. Born in Providence, Rhode Island and raised in Pasadena, California, Jon. B (born Jonathan David Buck) comes from a musical family; with his father David, a professor of music, his mother Linda, a concert pianist and his siblings Deborah, a violinist and his brother Kevin, a cellist.
Jon has released 6 studio albums and 3 compilation albums of his work. His legion of fans best know him for his work with Babyface Edmonds in the late 90’s to early 2000’s. Some of his signature works are “Someone to Love”, “Are You Still Down” with the late, great 2Pac, “They Don’t Know”, “Don’t Talk”, “Cool Relax” and “Pretty Girl” to name a few. Jon still tours frequently and is in the works to release a new album in 2019 which will include a cut with Mr. Caramel Smooth himself Donell Jones.
Donell Jones, was born the son of a gospel singer, Jones immersed himself in music at a young age. Later, he began to fall victim to the temptations of Chicago's South Side, where he grew up. At one point, after involving himself with gang culture, he decided to dedicate himself to music rather than the streets. He met Edward "Eddie F" Ferrell (former Heavy D & the Boyz member turned Untouchables Entertainment president), and the two formed a partnership with LaFace.
Beginning with his 1996 classic album My Heart, singer/songwriter/producer Donell Jones recorded a jazzy and soulful style of urban pop for LaFace Records and scored a few modest singles in the process. His first two singles -- "In the Hood" "You Should Know" and "Knocks Me Off My Feet" -- established his reputation within the competitive urban market. In particular, the latter song “Knocks Me Off My Feet”, originally a Stevie Wonder song from Songs in the Key of Life (1976), became a substantial hit for Jones, climbing to the upper reaches of the Billboard R&B chart and driving the album up the charts as well.
Jones attained impressive success with Where I Wanna Be and its singles: "U Know What's Up" which featured the work of the late rapstress “Left Eye” Lopez and "Shorty (Got Her Eyes on Me)." Jones has gone on to make 5 studio albums with 2 EP albums and has been a hit on the R&B/Soul circuit for years with stellar live performances of his string of hits.
Soooooooooo, again I thank you for stopping by the Shea Butta Soul Sessions and I trust that this Return of the the Soul Brothers featuring “White Chocolate” and Caramel Smooth will be something you return to again and again and recommend. Till the next experience I will let Jon and Donell do the saaaanging and return to the da soul. Keep on living well and loving passionately my beautiful people. Now let’s float…..

This is a special edition second installment of Black Diamond’s “Mi Casa Es Su Casa” HouseWerk sessions for 2K19. I want to thank all of my Black Diamond House Community for your continued support and inspiration as we get into gear for the house head seasons of Spring and Summer. As usual, I would like to wish you blessings, prayers, prosperity, passion and profit to you all and your families for the upcoming seasons. Also, add to that plenty of beautiful music and dance. I’ll provide the ear candy you provide the baby powder, sweat and footwerk.
That said, this experience was birthed from celebrating the essence of Ambrosia, which means “Nectar of the Gods” I wanted this special edition experience to be an audio nectar of the gods for my community and listeners. I wanted the music to represent a vision of all my favorite genres of house music in all of its shades, nuances, audio textures, productions and beautiful sonic styles all representative of the flavors I like to express.
Here is a breakdown of the eargasm special edition "Midnight Til Next Noon" arrangements for this Mi Casa Es Su Casa Experience:

Hour Three/Four - Spring is for lovers, so some soulful trax all about house love. Let’s live and love.
Hour Five/Six – Let’s heat it up with some baby powder dance floor footwerk starters. This is the sweatshop for my headz.
Hour Six/Seven – Some more smoothed out soul for the lovers. Tis the season for passion.
Hour Eight/Nine – A special Black Diamond musik dedication to the work of Naked Music productions (Blue Six, Miguel Migs/Jay Denes/The Rurals/Sade/Lisa Shaw) Music for beautiful evenings by the beach with special people Njoy.

https://hearthis.at/mv9krd6f/shea-butta-soul-sessions-floetry-an-evening-of-floetic-poetry/
Floetry were an English R&B/NeoSoul duo comprising singer Marsha Ambrosius aka the Songstress and poetess Natalie Stewart aka “The Floacist". The 2 made numerous highly acclaimed and awarded albums together and disbanded to pursue individual pursuits as artists.
After signing individual record deals with music companies and having individual success the fans of the duo always wanted to see the two unite. Soooooo, in December 2014, Stewart reunited with Ambrosius during Ambrosius' concert and performed "Floetic" at The Clapham Grand in London. In February 2015, Stewart confirmed that duo would be touring in 2015. The 2 have decided to continue to pursue their individual musical careers but their impact on music is documented here Black Diamond style.
I have been a huge fan of both of the artists with an affinity for The Floacist’s work as a poetic writer and singer songwriter. But, also have a huge respect for Marsha’s work as well as a songstress. That said, I would like to bring to the Shea Butta Session stage the beautiful work of “The Floacist” and “The Songstress” formerly known as Floetry for “An Evening Of Floetic Poetry”.
Sooooo, light you incense, your smoke of choice, get your libations, put on your cocoa butter, shea butter, beads, kente cloth garments and get in the “Floetry” musical flo. Special Big up's to my London massive sistren and bredren from my born land. Also, special shout outs to "The 5 Spot" in Philly of Market Street where I saw some of the best musical acts waaaay before the world did…that place was special. Big Up Philly...nothing but love and Philly Steak for ya!!!
Welcome to the session you beautiful people and I hope Floetry reunites in the future for another musical experience. Till then we will keep your memory in song here on “The Shea Butta Soul Sessions” Keep on living and loving my beautiful people.

https://hearthis.at/mv9krd6f/shea-butta-soul-sessions-jodeci-meets-htown-come-feel-the-love/
For the unfamiliar Jodeci comprised two sets of brothers raised in and around Charlotte, North Carolina: Don Jr. “DeVante Swing” (the musical mastermind of the group) and his younger brother Dalvin “Mr. Dalvin” DeGrate, and vocal powerhouses Cedric “K-Ci” and Joel “JoJo” Hailey. The name of the group “Jodeci” was the band’s moniker a syllabic mélange of all of their names shortened and put together.
The DeGrate and the Hailey brothers were raised in Pentecostal and Holiness churches in which sacred music served as a primary vehicle for theology; both of their families were nationally prominent on the gospel scene and were featured on the Billboard charts. From the early 1990’s Jodeci were the known as the "Thug bad boys of R&B" because they came across as the rugged, badass, but loveable ladies affection of R&B/New Jack Swing Soul. To this present day you can’t say New Jack Soul without mentioning the legends Jodeci.
Likewise, in 1992 the evolution of Rhythm and Blues was altered significantly for the world of music connoisseurs’ and millions of fans from the southern city of Houston. H-Town, named after the city they hailed from debuted an R&B soulful sound synonymous with universal acclaim, skillfully rocketed several hit singles to chart topping success, humbly acquired the longevity of mass audience appeal and righteously maintained a powerful presence on the spectra of performance entertainment and have been firmly grounded in the spotlight for nearly two decades.
With talent and precise orchestration, H-Town has mastered the minds of music’s adoring fans over and over again with their signature sound. Originally H-Town consisted of twin brothers Keven “Dino” Conner and Solomon “Shazam” Conner, along with their long time friend Darryl “G.I.” Jackson. In 2003 a tragic car accident took the life of Dino the vocal lead of the group…may he continue to R.I.Paradise.
It is by not accident that the Ladies love the music of Jodeci and H-Town because of the countless slow grooves that spoke of emotion, sensuality, sex and lots of thug loving machismo and thugs who expressed their emotions and their hearts in their music.
Sooooo, today I bring to the Shea Butta Sessionz a Black Diamond Special Edition strictly for the loverz, featuring the New Jack legendary bands Jodeci and H-Town. Sooooo, come and get this Shea Butta love Jodeci and H-Town Style…I hope you like it slow and sexy…..I sure do….SING FELLAZ!!!

https://hearthis.at/mv9krd6f/shea-butta-soul-sessions-maxwell-a-love-odyssey/
I liken Maxwell to a modern day Marvin Gaye with a large sprinkling of the song stylings, voice and sensuality of the late, great Prince. Maxwell is the platiunum standard by which male soul performers are currently compared to. And, if they say absence makes the heart grow fonder then his extended time in betwen music makes us crave for his music even more. That is because even between long absenses he delivers better than when he left us last when he reappears. The man is simply on another level of musical understanding.
That said, I wanted to present the works of this great artist in only the way Black Diamond can. Soooooo, the first hour and 20 mins is done is my personal House/Dance style for all my soul dancers. Then, we go into some of the earlier soul offerings of Maxwell from his earlier albums “Urban Hang Suite”, “Embrya” and “Now” with some lite commentary from the artist himself. Then I go into the “Black Summers Night” musical offerings the Black Diamond way. I trust you will njoy the musical journey.
As I like to do, when available, I like to add some jazz renditions to some of my favorite cuts of Maxwell. Sooooooo, I hope you enjoy the jazz additions to some of his favorite cuts. Also, I like to extend some of the ear candy for those who like to hear it one mo gin’ and again…lol.
Sooooo, today I am grateful and thankful to share with you all a Black Diamond Special Edition for the soul loverz…A Shea Butta Soul Session by the one, the only the living legend Maxwell. Welcome to a Love Odyssey Black Diamond style. I recommend you find a friend, phone a friend, text a friend and make this a viral social affair Njoy and share the Maxwell experience my beautiful people . Let’s rock this loud until the cops come a knocking lol. Nuff Peace, more passion, more love N even more Loving. Blessings!!!

If you are familiar with the 80’s and 90’s R&B/Soul/Quiet Storm scene then you would have to come across the song stylings of these 2 legendary groups. After was founded in 1987 by brothers Melvin and Kevin Edmonds and accompanied by Keith Mitchell who the brothers added to the group. The Edmonds brothers are the siblings of R&B/Pop legend singer-songwriter-producer Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds.
After 7, has had too many hits to mention. Sooooo, my hope is that I take you down memory lane with the compilation of their best works over their 30 years plus of song stylings. They are truly consumate showmen and talent of another level.
The group known as “Surface” was an R&B/Soul group who hailed from New Jersey, active from 1983 to 1994. The groups members consisted of Bernard Jackson, David Conley and David Townsend. The group are famous for songs “ Happy, I Missed, Closer Than Friends, Lately, Shower Me With Your Love, You Are My Everything, Can We Be Friends” and countless smooth Quiet Storm offerings.
I wanted to combine 2 of my favorite smooth groove groups into a session I like to call “ A Nice Time 4 Lovin” The both of these groups should be charged for some child support for all the babies they help create throughout the years lol. I’m blessed to be able to bring these staples of smooth music to the Black Diamond Ear Candy Community. Soooooo, please njoy the smooth grooving of After 7 and Surface and remember that anytime is a…Nice Time 4 Lovin’

Regina Belle is what I would call a singer’s saaaanger. Regina brings to mind comparisons to old school songstress sirens, Anita Baker, Nancy Wilson, Billie Holliday and Sarah Vaughn. She has always been a consummate professional and her music emotes classy, sensual, intimate, sorrow, jazzy, love and spiritual. Regina takes you places and through different ranges of emotion with her music and God-given instrument. Musical roots come from gospel. Regina is a survivor, brain tumor. Family and God first.
Regina Belle (born July 17, 1963) was born in Englewood, New Jersey. Her early musical experience was in gospel music. She also studied trombone, tuba and steel drums and graduated from Dwight Morrow High School. In college at Rutgers University, she studied opera and jazz. She met the Manhattans and began working as their opening act. She even recorded a duet with them, "Where Did We Go Wrong." her hard work earned her a record deal with Columbia Records.
Regina has had countless albums go gold and is probably best known for her duets with Peabo Bryson. Regina and Peabo teamed up for the song "A Whole New World" from the Aladdin Soundtrack. The song went gold and won the Grammy Award in 1993 for "Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal. Belle is also recognized for her great songs “Dream In Colour” and "If I Could"
After years in the R&B/Soul and Jazz arena Regina has gone back to her Gospel Roots and has been on the Gospel circuit for the past few years. She still sings a lot of her older material at shows but her time is spent mostly as the First Lady of 2 churches in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband of many years former NBA ball player John Battle.
Soooooo, today I would like to pay tribute to one of the best voices and performers of her generation. Coming to the Black Diamond Divaz At Work stage is the incomparable Regina Belle. Njoy the ear candy belovedz.

Kim Owens, better known by his stage name “Kem” is an Soul, Jazz, Neo-Soul, Blues and Gospel singer–songwriter and producer. Kem was born in Nashville, Tennesee, but was raised in Detroit, Michigan. After finishing high school, KEM dealt with homelessness, challenges, addiction, and isolation from his family at an early age. Kem admits that he did not overcome these issues until he turned to spirituality and music. As he has remarked: "My career didn't take off until I connected with my spirituality. That's why I take time on stage and on the album to administer spirituality to my audience through my music and my experience.
Kem continues: “That's one of the things that I am most proud of." Kem is one of the classiest and most respected male artists in the soul arena, with a huge female and male audience world- wide. His music is inflectious with a shea butta smooth and sensual flow. He is simply soul and spirit personified.
So for the first hour I bring to you the Kem soul party with many of his house and soul uptempo hits and then we get jazzy and soulful the “Kem way.” Then we slow it down and get grown and sensual. If you have never been part of a Kem experience you are in for a treat.
Soooooo, today I am grateful and thankful to share with you all “Diamond Shea Butta Sessions Presents Kem – Sensual Kem-Istry” Black Diamond Style. Find a friend, phone a friend, tell a friend and tell a friend about Kemistry.
Njoy and share the experience. Nuff Peace N Love. Blessings!!!

https://hearthis.at/mv9krd6f/divaz-at-work-ledisi-the-soul-truth-according-2-ledisi/
Ledisi Anibade Young, stage name Ledisi is a soul singer songwriter extraordinaire. Ledisi’s name is pronounced LE-duh-see, which is Yorubu for “to bring forth luck.” I must say she has been nothing but great musical luck to the soul scene since her arrival. Ledisi brings a great flavor of Neo-Soul, Jazz, R&B, Gospel, Blues and Lite Rock music. She writes smooth, soulful songs with messages of spiritual and emotional uplift that gently wash over the listener’s ear.
Ledisi was born in New Orleans but her family relocated to Oakland, Calif., where Ledisi followed her mother’s lead and became a singer. Growing up in a musical family where both her mother and step father performed in local bands, Ledisi began singing live at the age of eight with the New Orleans Symphony Orchestra.
In 1990 she was nominated for a Shellie award for her performance in a production of “The Wiz” and sung vocals for a run with the cabaret group Beach Blanket Babylon, before studying piano and opera at the University of California Berkeley, in their Young Musicians Program.
After studying music she formed a jazz and hip-hop band called Anibade alongside fellow musicians Sundra Manning, Phoenix Normand, Cedrickke Dennis, Nelson Braxton, Wayne Braxton and Rob Rhodes. The band achieved a kind of cult-status in the San Francisco, U.S. Bay Area although failed to get signed to a major label.
Ledisi’s debut album “Soulsinger: The Revival” was released independently on her own label LeSun Records in 2000, and her follow-up 2002’s “Feeling Orange but Sometimes Blue” won the singer the award for “Outstanding Jazz Album” at the California Music Awards.
In 2007 after a short hiatus in which she questioned whether she wanted to remain in the music industry, Ledisi signed with Verve Records and released her third studio album “Lost & Found”. The album saw a string of positive reviews, sold over 200,000 copies and earned her two Grammy nominations.
After touring with R&B singer Kem on his North American tour Ledisi’s released her album “Pieces of Me” in 2011 the release was her most commercially successful and received three Grammy Nominations for Best R&B Album, Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song for the title track. Ledisi’s released her danceable and upbeat seventh studio album entitled “The Truth” in March 2014. Ledisi has garnered nothing but high praise and respect from her contemporaries and listeners world wide.
Soooooo, today I would like to share with you all “The Soul Truth According 2 Ledisi” Black Diamond Style. Njoy and share the experience. Nuff Peace N Love.

EPMD were from Brentwood, N.Y. The group's name is a concatenation of the 2 members names Erick Sermon ("E" a.k.a. E Double) and Parrish Smith("PMD" a.k.a. Parrish Mic Doc). Collectively they became "E" and "PMD" for "Erick and Parrish Making Dollars" EPMD. EPMD were the one of the first Hip Hop groups to use sampling of old soul records behind their Hip Hop songs calling it "Hip Hop Funk". EPMD were one of the coldest groups to do it in the 90's.
From South Jamaica Queens N.Y. The Lost Boyz were a Hip Hop group banging thangs in the “Killa Queens” district, which was famous for Nas, L.L. Cool J. Capone N Noreaga and an up and comer name 50 cent fame. The original group members were lead by the voice of the group Mr. Cheeks, backup MC and promoter Freaky Tah ( who passed early (1971–1999), DJ Spigg Nice and Pretty Lou . The Boyz’ brought fun, beats and funk to the Hip Hop game and to this day are one of my favorite groups for their style of rhyming.
Sooooo, that said, I bring to you the Party and Business experience featuring 2 of my fav groups from the 90’s. I bring to the Black Diamond Mic Klub stage EPMD and The Lost Boyz. Strap your Tim’s up and turn the sounds in the jeep on max…we bout’ to have a funk party N.Y. style. Let’s work!!!

https://hearthis.at/mv9krd6f/the-aretha-franklin-diamond-tribute-part-2/
Aretha Louise Franklin ( March 25 1942 – August 16 2018) was the undisputed, indomitable Queen of Soul, whose gospel-tinged R&B music displays one of the greatest and heralded voices in recording history. There are certain individuals that stand higher than their craft…Aretha Franklin was one of those people. Aretha wasn’t just a soul musician...she was a movement.
They are countless individuals that have contributed to the sound of Soul music. But, there is not soul music without the sounds of Aretha Franklin…the music would be missing it’s soul. Aretha Franklin’s legendary voice is rightfully the center of most remembrances of the Queen of Soul. As one of the most celebrated and heralded voices in the history of music, her accolades and awards are numerous.
Aretha placed more than 100 singles on the Billboard charts, including 17 Top 10 pop singles and 20 No. 1 R&B hits. She was the first female artist to place 70 songs on the Hot 100, and she’s tied with Stevie Wonder for the most No. 1s on Billboard’s R&B chart. She also received 20 Grammy Awards along with a lifetime achievement award in 1994. She was the first woman inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, in 1987, its second year. Rolling Stone gave the highest of praise to her when they dubbed her the “Greatest Singer of All Time” in 2010.
On this installment, I wanted to touch on the more jazzy, gospel and blues side of Aretha’s work. This is Aretha in her more sentimental moods and going back to her jazz, blues and gospel roots. Many of these arrangements are just Aretha accompanied with her piano, or light arrangements. These really speak to her vocal power and the “Soul” of Aretha.
Sooooo, I trust that I have done The Queen of Soul justice on these 2 ear candy experiences of her work. Rest In Soul Paradise Aretha, you don’t have to ask for any more respect…its been long due and been given. Thank you for your example, your legacy and all the magnificent ear candy.
Ladies and gentlemen I bring to you the saaaangers of saaaaangers the soulstress Aretha Franklin…Black Diamond Style. Njoy and share the experience.

What is also a little known fact is that before his untimely death Jay and BIG were collaborating on an album that didn’t see the light of day. They were to put together a super group called the Commission. Hip-hop heads, did you know that Jay-Z and The Notorious B.I.G. were planning to form a supergroup together called The Commission”
While Biggie and Jay-Z had already collaborated on numerous occasions – “Brooklyn’s Finest,” “I Love the Dough” and “Young G’s” – a full length album with both Brooklyn legends going head to head and Puffy quarterbacking the project with his business acumen could have resulted in a complete industry takeover.
Sadly Biggie passed away in March 1997, before the project could get off the ground. Jay-Z has gone on to become one hip-hop’s biggest moguls while Biggie has cemented his legacy as one of the greatest rappers of all time, even with his limited catalogue.
Sooooo, as I’m apt to do, I wanted to bring to you, Black Diamond Style, an experience of what I think the Commission would have produced for your musical pleasure. Soooooo, I’ve combined 5 compilations of Frank White and IceBerg Slim into an Experience I like to call “ Brooklyn’s Finest – IceBerg Slim Meets Frank White Project”
Have to give credit to Dj Mello and Dj Cinema for “The Commission 1 and 2”. Also, the makers of “Blue Eyes meets Bedstuy” Dj Cappel and Smitty. and also the tributes made by Dj M-Rock for Biggie and Jay-Z. This is the concert I would of loved to attend.
R.I.Paradise B.I.G. and keep on ruling the industry Hov…I’m just going to spread some love…IT’S THE BROOKLYN WAY.

Aretha sang in front of many presidents and royalty of the world. She sang at the inauguration of Barack Obama in 2009 that brought him to tears. In addition, she sang for Jimmy Carter in 1977 and Bill Clinton in 1993, and at both the Democratic National Convention and the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s funeral in 1968.
There are so many singers who owe their careers to the foundation and stylings of Aretha Franklin. Mary J. Blige, soul royalty in her own right paid tribute to Aretha years back when she said: “Aretha is a gift from God. When it comes to expressing yourself through song, there is no one who can touch her. She is the reason why women want to sing.” That is truly high praise. I am of the mindset that the words Diva trendsetter and Boss were meant to describe Aretha Franklin.
There is so much more to say for Aretha, that I will save it for the second part. Rest In Soul Paradise Aretha, you don’t have to ask for any more respect…its been long due and been given. Thank you for you legacy and all the ear candy.
Ladies and gentlemen I bring to you the saaaangers of saaaaangers the soulstress Aretha Franklin…Black Diamond Style. Njoy and share the one of a kind experience.

Since 2010, the two kings of party-rocking have linked up to release the annual 4th of July mixtape inspired by DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince’s hit single "Summertime" . It really has become the soundtrack to the streetz by Jazzy Jeff and Mick as they cut, blend and blaze some old skool Hip/Hop, R&B, soul dusty grooves and break beats for our listening pleasure.
So, what I've done is put together the first Black Diamond Edition of the mixtapes which is a compilation of Volumes 5-9 for your listening pleasure. Soooo to paraphrase my man Fresh Prince: "Think of the summers of the past/ Adjust the bass and let the alpine blast/Pop in my mixtape and let it run the rhymes/put your car on cruise, BBQ, pop bottles and lay back...cause it's summertime!" HELLOOOOOO SUMMMER!!!]]>

I am a sun worshipper, and I am of the mindset that House Musik and the Sunshine are a marriage made in heaven. Nothing soothes my soul more than great House Musik, beautiful people, a great system, great energy, great selections, great locale, excellent libations and generous helping of sunshine. There is nothing like a beautiful sunrise and sunset, I believe our Higher Power kisses his people with energy and power from the sun.
That said, this experience was birthed from great encounters in the sunshine. Now, as we move from Spring into Summer the true House season begins again, and along with it the beautiful musik, people and experiences alike. I wanted to pay a tribute to El Sol with musik that emotes the feelings I get from the sun. So travel with me through the Kissed by the Sunshine Diamond experience. But bring plenty chapstick, beach chairs and baby powder, because we’re going to get pretty hot in here and be prepared to kiss the sun back.
WELCOME TO THE EXPERIENCE, THANX FOR STOPPING BY AND PLEASE BRING A FRIEND.

I was blessed to be able to express myself at an exclusive house event a couple of weeks ago that was very well attended with nothing but House Headz…my kinda people lol. It was an old skool typical House affair from sunset to sunrise like the old “G” dayz. Soooooo, like the king I am, I went heavy into my “Bag” and dusted off some Klassics and soulful bangerz for the get down. Its’ only right…anything else would be uncivilized. That said, I also wanted to record it for prosperity and to be able to share with my community of Houze Headz later.
Black Diamond’s Prelude 2 Summer 18 is the outcome of the night. And, what happened there stays there lol, but you are able to get the ear candy belovedz. First couple of hours are for the 80’s and 90’s headz when house was still dance, disco and soul. Then we jump into the soulful eargasmz. This is not a deep, African soul event, we went hard body soul/funk/klassics and old skool.
Soooooo, with the weather starting to act right, this is my prelude to Summer 18. I thank you all for your support and taking your time to listen to my craft. Hopefully it’s time well spent as usual. Nuff House luv always and live your life with passion and find passion in your lives and express it. Dance like nobody is watching. See ya this Summer…God Willing. I will bring my Baby Powder...come with yours.

https://hearthis.at/mv9krd6f/cece-n-bebe-winans-a-spiritual-journey/
I have always been a spiritual man, believer and follower of the Word from when I was a youngster. But, along with the scripture the early Gospel music didn’t resonate with me much. Aside from what was sung in church or what I played in the band for choir rehersals I didn’t listen to much of it on my free time at all.
Fast forward to when I got older and it (Gospel) became more secular in it’s nature then I became a huge listener to the genre. That said, my favorite group was, and still is, CeCe and BeBe Winans. They made Crossover Gospel with Hip appeal that still stayed with the messages of Faith and spirituality. Win/Win for me.
For those who are unfamiliar, BeBe & CeCe Winans are the brother and sister Gospel duo of the tribe Winans. BeBe (Benjamin) and CeCe (Priscilla) Winans are the seventh and eighth children of “Mom” and “Pop’ Winans ' ten children, most of whom have had gospel music careers. Together, the two have received numerous awards (3 Grammys, 9 Dove, 2 NAACP and 2 Soul Train) awards for their musical endeavors.
CeCe and BeBe Winans have released 9 duet albums. CeCe has released 9 singular albums and BeBe has 7 of his own. Of the 2 CeCe is the more acknowledged, decorated and popular and is looked at highly as one of the best female gospel voices of her generation. But, no matter how successful CeCe is as a singular talent nothing compares to the magic they both produce as CeCe and BeBe.
Soooo today I wanted to pay tribute and give you some food for your soul from my very favorite Gospel duo CeCe and BeBe Winans. Because as it been said: "We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.” It’s a spiritual journey my belovedz…Njoy the CeCe and Bebe experience.!!!

“What the world needs now is love, sweet love, It's the only thing that there's just too little of.
What the world needs now is love, sweet love, No not just for some but for everyone.” Sound familiar??? No truer words were ever spoken. Love makes the world go round and music is the world’s universal language. Soooo no better way to start a love movement than with musik.
With Valentine’s Day on the horizon this month, we could all use a little more love in a world of chaos and unrest. Soooo I wanted to build this House experience around some love tracks and also the usual House bangers that need your footwerk and baby powder.
The first 2 hours of this affair are filled with a little Afro House and then we get into the usual suspects of new and old house bangers for your ear candy approval.
Soooo as the words of that beautiful song goes;
”Lord, we don't need another mountain, There are mountains and hillsides enough to climb.
There are oceans and rivers enough to cross, Enough to last till the end of time.
What the world needs now is love, sweet love. It's the only thing that there's just too little of
What the world needs now is love, sweet love,No, not just for some but for everyone.”
Let’s begin a love movement my beloveds and put our musical hands around the world. The world needs strong arms which are out stretched offering tons of love. Welcome to my Love Movement, all I ask is you bring your footwerk and your Baby Powder and I’ll provide the ear candy. Please share the movement and the feeling of HOUSE.

Hip Hop has had many famous lyrical dynamic duos since its inception. Kid N Play, Outkast, Mobb Deep, EPMD, BlackStar, M.O.P, A Tribe Called Quest, Smif N Wessun and the legendary RUN—DMC. Big respect due to the group Outkast who may be the only rival in this arena. But, pound for pound lyrically and respect wize nobody stacks up to the ICONIC duo Meth N Red. Simply put they are the platinum standard for 2 man MCeeeing.
Spanning 25 years in the rap game, Method Man of WuTang fame and Redman of HitSquad, DefSquad and Gilla House fame are the best at what they do. Lyrically, they both present different styles that complement each other deftly. Individually, they probably are 2 of the most underrated spitters in the game. Their one of kind stage stealing show has been must see Hip Hop for 20 plus years. The Blunt Brothers affinity for weeeeda has never been understated and only Snoop Dogg has smoked more izm than Red N Meth…they are the Hip Hop poster boys for the sourdeeeezal culture.
Sooooooo, instead of presenting them apart it’s only right that I present to you the best Rap Duo of alltime in a Black Diamond Mic experience. Ladies and Gentlemen get you a fat sack of your favorite sourdeeez and your favorite libation because it’s time for the Meth N Red Show. YOU THINK YOU KNOW…BUT YOU HAVE NO IDEA…IT’S A METH N RED THANG…BLAZE UP!!!
****Explicit Language…so you betta hide the kids. This is grown folk Hip Hop lololol****

That said, I would like to share with you some quotes regarding Dance and the universal language MUSIC.
"Dance, one of the oldest forms of artistic expression, requires only the human body for its realization. Dance, like music, is the expression of the human spirit. Dance is 'visual music'. Dance is your pulse, your heartbeat, your breathing. It’s the rhythm of your life. It’s the expression in time and movement, in happiness, joy, sadness and envy.” The truest expression of a people is in its dances and its music. Bodies never lie."
So, I've expressed myself through my musical experience and I wish that you can express yourself through your own version of dance. Nuff "House Love" to you all and please work daily to live you lives with passion and find passion in your lives. Also, work to become better versions of yourself daily. Express yourself through your dance...cause the BODIES NEVER LIE. Thanks for letting me express myself lol. Until the next connect and experience. MIC DROP!!!]]>

https://hearthis.at/mv9krd6f/black-diamond-mic-klub-dmx-then-there-was-x/
DMX came along in a Hip Hop age when lyricism and the “Bling” lifestyle ruled the day. X was the antithesis of that, he was raw, gritty, loud and gave voice to the voiceless from the slums and the ghettos. DMX provided an alternative to the glamorous images and tunes of contemporary rap artists. X proved that lyricism isn’t everything, he was an example that delivery and aggression alone can help you become a force to be reckoned with.
DMX made Hip Hop history in 1998 with his albums “It's Dark and Hell Is Hot” and his immediate follow-up album Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood. Both albums reached number one on the Billboard charts in their first week, making DMX the first recording artist in music history to have his first two albums reach number one within a year. He proved to be no flash in the pan, going on to break the Billboard chart records again and again. By 2003 he had become the first person to have five consecutive albums debut at the top spot on the Billboard charts. X was a movement.
DMX has always been Hip Hop’s enigma. His success was undisputed as one of the most respected and successful selling MC’s of all time. But, with that success has come a lot of pain and challenge as he had had many run ins with the law and a long ongoing bout with drugs. It remains a mystery a man so talented and has so much to live for seems to be his greatest problem. How he remains alive is one of our present days mysteries. I truly believe that he has a larger purpose to fulfill here…it’s God plan.
So today Black Diamond Mic Klub takes you into the X experience. Mr.Voice of the Streets. There is very explicit language so you have been warned…..BUT THEN IT WOULDN’T BE X OTHERWISE LOLOLOL. So ladies and gentlemen, thots and thugs, gangsters and ho’s X GONNA GIVE IT 2 YA!!!

https://hearthis.at/mv9krd6f/the-monique-bingham-project-the-queen-of-house-music/
Monique Bingham has been responsible for some of the most poignant, soulful jazz and funk infused house music of the past 20 years. Monique has been sought after and worked with some of the most important producers in the house game for years. Louie Vega, Karizma, Ralf Gum, Jelly Bean Benitez, Kerri Chandler, Sir Piers and Black Coffee are a few who had to have the songstress bless their musical creations. What Jill Scott has become to Neo-Soul and R&B soul-jazz music, Monique has become to House. She simply has become the gold standard of writers and singers in the space.
While the house scene remained largely bubbling underground in the US, Europe and Asia, the South African house scene exploded and Monique has been at the forefront of it. Her collaboration “Take Me To My Love“ with Ralf Gum became a runaway crossover hit in the country and her collab with Louie Vega “ Elevator (Going Up)” has become a classic in the global house scene.
If you are unaware Monique has been on the music scene going on 20 years and still going strong. She remains one of the most interesting, enduring and wanted artists the New York City underground has ever produced. Monique stated; “After 20 years of making music I almost feel like I’m just getting started. I have so much more to say and in some ways I’m more excited now than I was back in ’95. The future is wide open.” We are waiting to hear much more Monique. So, with no further ado, I bring to the Black Diamond House stage my very favorite house diva….MONIQUE BINGHAM…TAKE US TO YOUR LOVE…..SAAAAAAAANNNNNGGGG.

When it comes to dancehall legends names like Josey Wales, Admiral Bailey, Yellowman, Supercat, Buju, Ninjaman, Beenie Man, Capelton and Sean Paul quickly come to mind. But, when it comes to the “Don” and foundation of them all they pay homage to Shabba Ranks. Rexton Rawlston Fernando Gordon aka Shabba Ranks has to go down as one of the pioneer forefathers of Dancehall music. The protégé of Josey Wales has to go down as one of the most successful and influencial dancehall artists of all time.
To much scrutiny Shabba was one of the first dancehall dj’s to fuse reggae with rap and soul music when it wasn’t popular to do so. Because of his brashness he was exiled for years from his native Jamaica for his out of the box thinking. I’m of the mindset that what Bob Marley was to reggae, Shabba was, and is, to dancehall music…..love or hate him. Shabba was not just a dancehall DJ, he was a movement.
So, that said, I bring to you MY favorite dancehall dj of all time the “Emperor Ground” aka Mister Hits For Ages” aka “Mr. Love Punnany Bad” aka “Mr. Caaan Dunn” aka “Mr Trailer Load a Gurls”. Shabba thank you for being my dancehall daddy and I hope you guys love my musical experience into the World of the Punnany Man…Shabba Ranks. IT’S A SHABBA TING…. FIYAH FI DEM…NOBODY DOES IT LIKE SHABBA. CHUUUUUUUNEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

Not everyone understands house music, it's a spiritual thing, a body thing, a soul thing. It's a spiritual thing. Yes it is. But I'm here to tell ya, more of what house music means to me.House music is a healer when you don't feel good inside. House music is something that keeps you up when you're feeling down. Yes it is. Antonio Hardy aka Big Daddy King Asiatic Nobody's Equal hails from BedStuy, Brooklyn and repped and ruled the through boro waaaaaay before Jay-Z had a Blueprint and Biggie had Puff and a Warning. Kane started his rap career in 1986 as a member of the rap collective the Juice Crew. The Crew featured artists Kool G Rap, Craig G, Roxanne Shante, Biz Markie, MC Shan, Masta Ace and the Producer/DJ/Engineer Marley Marl.
Kane was truly Hip Hop’s first Mack Daddy of the Microphone with his playboy persona and other worldly lyrical skills to go with Sex Symbol image. Kane, was one of the rappers, along with Rakim, L.L.Cool J, Kool G Rap and KRS, who changed the way rappers rhymed, dressed, did stage shows and addressed their lyrical content. Kane simply changed the game.
All Music said of Kane, "his best material ranks among the finest hip-hop of its era, and his sex-drenched persona was enormously influential on countless future would-be players." They go on to describe him as, "an enormously talented battle MC", "one of rap's major talents with near-peerless technique and rhyming skills." Kane had the sheer verbal facility and razor-clean dexterity to ambush any MC and exhilarate anyone who witnessed or heard him perform.” As a battle MC, Kane had very few challengers over his storied career. Other MC’s respected his craft and skill level too highly to ever want some of the wrath of Kane.
So this is a Big Daddy Thing my people…It’s about to get “RAW from the SMOOTH OPERATOR whose about to SET IT OFF for ANOTHER VICTORY. So get ready to get your lyrical party on with the WRATH OF KANE and there AIN’T NO HALF STEPPING. So…..WARM IT UP KANE…..

So, this is a dance party for all my house heads with a large variety of house genres represented throughout the mixes. There is some Deep, Tribal, Afro, Disco, Soulful house music for all. Also, there is a lot of Louie Vega produced tracks with respect to his Grammy nominations this year…all well-deserved and long overdue. Respect due also to the great work of Josh Milan and the great music of the Honeycomb Music camp which is also represented here.
I just wanted to give a gift of thanks to all my fellow house heads and also for the soul, the eargasms, the klassics, the inspiration. the passion and the timeless ear candy all the musicians and producers gave us in 2016. Also, thanx for keeping this culture diverse, jumping and alive, because not everyone will understand HOUSE MUSIK. So, welcome to a spiritual thang, a higher conscious thang, a dance thing, and overall a HOUSE THANG. So, these are the confessions of a house head for the beautiful year of 2016.
I wish you all for 2017 health, wealth and higher consciousness of self and heavy doses of HOUSE MUSIK.

If anyone lived the life of Rock & Roll, loose women, drugs and mo drugs, smoking the Weeeeeeeda, parties for days, delirious fornicating, sexcapades and living life to the excess…it had to be Rick James. It was soooo good that Rick James made plenty of songs about it lol. James was the true embodiment of the Rock and Roll lifestyle. James became one of the leading lights of funk in the late Seventies and early Eighties, but across the years, the singer was equally obsessed with sex and drugs.
Rick James partied “With the kinds of girls, you don’t take home to mother.” His words not mine lol. He also smoked more endo than Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa and Bob Marley could ever think about. Also, did more drugs in his lifetime than they probably had at Woodstock in the 70’s. James lived life to the fullest and was musical genius enough to write epic songs all about it. Simply put the man was genius in funk mode.
The Rick James party bus came to a full stop and eternally parked on August 6, 2004. He had died from pulmonary failure and cardiac failure, associated with his various health conditions of diabetes, a stroke, pacemaker, and heart attack. Popular opinion was that all the partying and drugs had contributed to his demise. What he did leave behind is an ode to love, life, excess living and the party life.
So, when someone ask you about him put some respeck on his name and address him as RICK JAMES B!&*H!!!!
Thanx for being so “Cold Blooded” Rick…Now blow you SUPERFREAK……BLOW!!!
Njoy the world of Rick James…Confessions of a Superfreak!!!

https://hearthis.at/mv9krd6f/lets-have-a-little-fourplay/
The Fourplay story begins in 1990, with keyboardist Bob James, who had already established himself as a formidable figure in jazz, known not just as an instrumentalist, also but as a composer and arranger, with a solo career dating back to the mid-1960s.
It was in 1990, when James partnered with Harvey Mason during the recording of James’ album Grand Piano Canyon. That project also included guitarist Lee Ritenour, and bassist Nathan East. That recording marked the genesis of the original group known as FOURPLAY.
The original lineup of James, Mason, East, and Ritenour released their self-titled debut in 1991, and stayed together for three successive albums. Ritenour left the group and was replaced by Larry Carlton on guitar who was also replaced by Chuck Loeb the current guitarist. The mainstays of the groups are James, Mason and East.
Known for their Improvisational, contemporary jazz style they incorporate elements of blues, funk and Celtic into their music. Fourplay has featured vocalists such as Phil Collins, Patti Austin, Chaka Khan, Anita Baker, El Debarge, Babyface Edmonds, Shanice and Peabo Bryson. Nathan East, also has continued to contribute vocals throughout the course of the group’s history.
For over 25 years the legend of Fourplay has grown. Exploring the limitless possibilities of jazz has allowed the quartet to evolve musically, drawing musical elements from a wide range of styles, to hone their own unique and innovative sound. So, ladies and gentlemen it’s time to get cozy, smooth and intimate. Dim the lights, turn up the sounds, set the mood and “Let’s Have A Little Fourplay" Let’s Play Gentlemen!!!

https://hearthis.at/mv9krd6f/dave-koz-tribute-koz-its-just-sooooo-smoooth/
In the 25 years since the release of his self-titled solo debut album, Dave Koz has received nine GRAMMY® nominations, had nine No. 1 albums on Billboard’s Current Contemporary Jazz Albums chart, toured the world and been honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In the course of his career, Koz has also played with such artists as Burt Bacharach, Ray Charles, Natalie Cole, Celine Dion, Shelby Lynne, Kenny Loggins, U2 and Michael McDonald. A platinum-selling artist, he is also known as a humanitarian, entrepreneur, radio host and instrumental music advocate.
Dave initially just saw the saxophone as a way to help him gain entry into his big brother’s band. What began as a ploy became a lifelong obsession of Dave’s. After graduating from UCLA, Koz decided to become a professional musician. Within weeks of that decision, he was recruited as a touring member of Bobby Caldwell’s band. It was during this time that Koz befriended keyboardist Jeff Lorber, who invited Koz to come play on one of his tours. That stint was followed by a fourteen-month tour with pop singer Richard Marx.
Dave is constantly touring, with annual summer and holiday tours, and the highly successful Dave Koz & Friends At Sea. His next two voyages are sold out, bringing his tally of sold out cruises to seven. In 2017, he’ll host two back-to-back voyages to “Venice and Beyond.” Dave also continues to flex his mass-communications muscles as a radio personality. As host of his syndicated “Dave Koz Radio Show,” he has been broadcasting coast-to-coast for more than 21 years.
So today, my ear candy “Expressing my Sax-u-ality” experience is dedicated to the artistry of the great Dave Koz…KOZ IT’S JUST SOOOOOOO SMOOOOOOTH. DAVE!!!…COME ON IN AND BLOW KOZ STYLE! NJOY.

NJOY.

Over a 25 plus year career James has racked up sales of more than 3 million records, four RIAA gold albums, four GRAMMY nominations, a Soul Train Award, nominations for two NAACP Image Awards and 10 CD’s atop the Billboard Contemporary Jazz Albums chart. In 2009 Billboard Magazine named him the #3Contemporary Jazz Artist Of The Decade. High praise indeed.
In a contemporary jazz world of such accomplished contemporaries Boney has always had some stiff competition over the years. See the great sax work of Najee, Kim Waters, Kenny G, Kirk Whalum, Walter Beasley, Gerald Albright, Candy Dulpher, Dave Koz, Warren Hill, Marion Meadows and Euge Groove just to name a few. Boney’s work has always stood out because of his great soul collaborations as well. He’s been known to collaborate with some great Neo-Soul and soul and jazz singers to create some sensual and smoothest of jazz tracks.
James profoundly said, when asked what category his music fall under; “When people ask me what category my music falls under, I always say, ‘It’s Boney James music’.”So, today I bring to you The Boney James Experience – Giving you some “Sax-U-al Healing”. It’s just Boney James music people!!! So step to the stage and do what you do best Boney…..BLOW MY BROTHER BLOOWWWW!!! NJOY!!!

Janet was a trailblazer, fusing dance, with other music genres, raising the bar for music video choreography, speaking out about social injustice, breaking racial and sexual taboos. The trends she started in fashion and music can still be seen in the work of today's female music stars."
If Michael Jackson was the “King of Pop” then his little sister Janet has to be the “Queen of Pop”. For 20 plus years Janet Jackson has simply been a MOVEMENT. No other way to put it. Her music and videography are considered among the most influential in music pop culture history. She has forever changed the way videos and music are done. Her elaborate video sets, intricate dance routines, fashion, and meticulous detail set the blueprint for many to follow after. Jackson is credited as making music/performance and video choreography into an artform and she is the female Picasso.
Janet’s “Control” and “Rhythm Nation” album are considered trendsetters and 2 of the best selling albums by a female artist of all time. On this tribute to greatness I wanted to reflect Janet’s sexuality and gift of telling great stories through her dance music. Janet said: “I just want my music and my dance to catch the audience’s attention, and to hold it long enough for them to listen to the lyrics and what we’re saying.” Well for 20 plus years you’ve had our attention and we damn sure been watching and listening. So ladies and gentlemen I bring to the stage The Queen of Dance Janet Jackson aka Ms. Jackson…IF YOUR NASTY. LET’S DANCE!!! GIMME A BEAT!!!

Soul Train ran for a 35-year span {1971-2006}, it was the brainchild of pioneer and trailblazer Don “2 Cool 4 School” Cornelius. The show primarily featured performances by R&B, soul and hip hop artists, although funk, jazz, disco and gospel artists also appeared. The train was the "longest-running first-run, nationally syndicated program in American television history." Simply put it was the American Bandstand for People of Color.
So let’s return to the soul klassics. Get out your platforms, bell bottoms, afros, dashiki’s, doo rags, Afro pics, peace medallions and Afro Sheen and let’s get on the ‘Soul Train Line” and get to the “Scramble Board”. “Black Diamond bet’s ya last money, its gonna be a stone gas honey. As I lace this tribute with LOVE, PEACE AND PLENTY OF SOOOOOOUUULLLLL.”

Many avid fans and peers knew James Brown affectionately as "the Godfather of Soul," "Soul Brother Number One" and "the hardest working man in show business." Michael Jackson cited him as his greatest inspiration and the late Prince’s showmanship and stage show was a true representation of the flair and showmanship of James Brown. Simply put, James Brown put the “soul” in soul music and the “show” in a stage show.
As a brother who grew up in the Hip Hop culture, James Brown, as well as Kool Herc, may be solely responsible for the birth of Hip Hop as we know it. With some 800 songs in his repertoire, James Brown has influenced contemporary artists from virtually every popular music genre — rock, soul, jazz, R&B.
His polyrhythmic funk vamps virtually reshaped dance music, and his impact on hip-hop, in particular, was huge; in the music's early years, Brown was by far the most sampled artist. James Brown samples are so prevalent all throughout Hip Hop History that James is listed as number one most-sampled artist ever…..EVER!!!
So let’s remember James Brown the only we know how my soul brothers and sisters …Let’s Have a Funky Good Time.

In Chicago, Frankie Knuckles was called the “Godfather,” not because of any underworld connections, but because he helped build "House Music" – a style of Chicago dance music that revolutionized club culture in the ‘70s and ‘80s and still resonates around the world today as one of the most popular music art forms.
Frankie is widely recognized for developing the sound and culture of house music and he and Larry Levan (Paradise Garage) are the main reasons I'm a "house head" today. I dedicate this Diamond Tribute House Experience set to celebrate his legacy, his music and his memory. Thanx for all the ear candy Frankie and I'm sure you and Larry are throwing one hell of a party in House Heaven. Continue to R.I.Paradise Godfather.

I want to take a second to big up all the sounds I listened to years ago that inspired me to love dancehall and influenced my play. Sting Intl, Afrique Sound System, Stone Love, Earth Ruler, King Jammys, Kilamanjaro, Addies, Gemini, Bad Company, Bobby Konders, to name a few.
With no disrespect to the advancement of the culture of roots, rock and reggae, I believe there is nothing like the classics. When the dubs was nice, the musik was conscious, the singers saaaaang and the music went straight to your soul. So I wanted to recreate that experience with a visit to the old reggae bashments and the Hed Kandi choones.
So salute to my old spaces…Love People, Biltmore Ballroom, Africa House, Starlight Ballroom, The Ark, Club Illusions, The Village Hut, Tilden Ballroom, The Underground (Manhattan), The Q Club (Queens), all the afterwork reggae hangs in Manhattan (Silver Shadow, Down Under etc) and all the places and spaces I left out. What happened there and with who will remain nameless like it does it Vegas. The experiences were legendary…I was legendary lol.
So fellas put on a crisp bally boot or a Clarks with your 3 piece suit and ting. Ladies put on a nice frock, ya hair done and a beautiful pair a shoe. Grab a Guiness, A baby Sham, A Kalua and Milk, A Moet, a Cani or a Champagne. Hold a corner and rent a partner and a tile cause it’s bubbling time.
So ladies and gentlemen…IT’S A ROCKERS LADIES AND GENTLEMEN……IT’S A ROCKAZ!!!! PULL IT THE CHOONE SELECTOR AND LEGGO THIS ONE YAH!!!!!MO FIYAH MO FIYAH!!!!!!!

Loose Ends were one of the top British dance and urban contemporary trios in the early '80s. Formed in London, the group included Carl McIntosh, Jane Eugene, and Steve Nichol. Virgin signed the group in 1981 and the group went on to have numerous dance and smooth groove hits throughout the 80’s. The Ends had great crossover appeal and became very popular and garnered many fans in the USA.
Their very popular single "Hanging on a String (Contemplating)" topped the R&B charts in 1985, and they repeated that achievement in 1986 with hits "Slow Down, Stay A Little While, Sweetest Pain, Choose Me and Night’s of Pleasure." Loose Ends paved the way for many other British groups to follow. Namely, Soul II Soul, Princess, Imagination, Human League, 5 Star, Simply Red, Lisa Stansfield and George Michael just to name a few. So with no further ado I bring to you the smoothest group to hail from the UK. Excuse me while I tie up the LOOSE ENDS. Njoy the British Soul Sessions.

Coming out of Mt. Vernon aka Money Earning Mount Vernon, New York, Heavy D & the Boyz took the "golden age" of rap to another level, with a sound and style that made that made music safe for the masses, yet still thrilled Hip Hop hard-core fans. The star, of course, was Heavy D, a big man as nimble on the dance floor as he was on the mic. Hev’ and the Boyz, began a 10 year string of hits that made them among the most popular Hip Hop groups in the hip hop world. While DJ Eddie F. established himself among the most underrated producers in the game and dancers ‘Trouble’ T-Roy’ and ‘G-Whiz’, gave their live performances a sizzle and grace that helped usher in the era of New Jack Swing.
The first band signed to Uptown Records, they also helped boost the careers of such up-and-coming talents as Teddy Riley, Puffy, Andre Harrell, Monifah and Pete Rock. But the group’s joyful reign was shaken by the tragic death of Troy “Trouble T-Roy Dixon, and the tragic death of Heavy D in November 2011. brought a sorrowful closure to their storied career. But today I revive the career of one of the best Hip Hop groups of their time and one of the best lyricists to ever do it Heavy D. Ladies and gentlemen…The Overweight Lova is still in the house. Of all 3 and I love them all Gregory has always been my personal favorite because he has always dealt with love and although he's sung about politics, struggle, oppression and injustice Love has always been his staple and I truly believe that Love will and always conquer all and nobody has expressed Lovequite like the Cool Ruler Gregory.
So "Tune In" forget all about the "Rumors" come in out the "Storm" "Cool Down the Pace" and find yourself a "Night Nurse" and a "Only Lover". There will never be another like you Gregory and the world thanx you for the "LOVE" Continue to R.I.Paradise tell Bob and Dennis we miss them 2 #Choooon #TheCoolRuler.

Hold a corner and rent a partner and a tile cause it’s a “Black Diamond Dread At The Controls.” So, ladies and gentlemen…IT’S A ROCKAZ LADIES AND GENTLEMEN……IT’S A ROCKAZ!!!! RIDDIMS FULLA CULCHA YALLLL!!!!!MO FIYAH MO FIYAH!!!!!!!

The late great Bob Marley said of love; “ I wanna love you and treat you right; I wanna love you every day and every night: We'll be together with a roof right over our heads; We'll share the shelter of my single bed; We'll share the same room, yeah! - for Jah provide the bread.”
“Is this love - is this love - is this love -Is this love that I'm feelin'? Is this love - is this love - is this love -
Is this love that I'm feelin'? I wanna know - wanna know - wanna know now! I got to know - got to know - got to know now!”
“I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I - I'm willing and able, So I throw my cards on your table! I wanna love you - I wanna love and treat - love and treat you right; I wanna love you every day and every night: We'll be together, yeah! - with a roof right over our heads; We'll share the shelter, yeah, oh now! - of my single bed; We'll share the same room, yeah! - for Jah provide the bread. Is this love - is this love - is this love -Is this love that I'm feelin'?" {Bob Marley – Is This Love}
So without a doubt on this Black Diamond Lovers Choice it is love you will be feeling. And, as Bob Marley famously said: Love the life you live, live the life you love…and may you find someone to love to make the life worth living. Live and love with passion……Blessings #OneLove

Marley challenged colonialism, racism and as he put it fought against ism’ and scism’. He had a rebel type of approach, but his rebelliousness had a clearly defined purpose to it,” As we celebrate, what would have been Marley’s 70th birthday through his music I'm reminded of his wisdom. "You say you love rain, but you use an umbrella to walk under it. You say you love sun, but you seek shelter when it is shining. You say you love wind, but when it comes you close your windows. So that’s why I’m scared when you say you love me.”
As music lovers I believe everyone should be exposed to Bob, his music, his life, his social consciousness, his global effect and his above all his legacy and contribution to the world at large. Njoi this tribute to musical genius. We miss you Bob’ the world misses you but we thank God for your genius. #JahRastafari #SimplyRebel #Bob@70 Njoi!

Will Downing’s voice is one of the most distinctive, loved and instantly recognizable voices in R&B. His flawless, emotive, buttery-smooth and agile honey-toned baritone, along with his impeccable phrasing and jazz-fueled agile runs, seamlessly, and effortlessly, bridge the worlds of R&B, Soul and Jazz. Will’s sophisticated, classy, smooth, sensual and always-cool musical sensibilities have proven to be timeless and have garnered him the role as the reigning king of romantic ballads.
After 25 years in the music business, and featured on 19 different albums Will is still going strong. A key ingredient to Downing’s success has been the keen selection of his repertoire. Will’s musical catalogue exemplifies the caliber of songs that Downing has long been associated with. Few singers possess the interpretive powers and individual musical identity required to reinvent ‘classic’ material and make it totally their own.
Will Downing has always been one of my very favorite male soul singers. He’s has always been known as “Luther Vandross Lite” with the uncanny similarities in their vocal delivery. With no disrespect to the greatest of the deceased Vandross but Will has forged his own path with Baby Makin music and a following of loyal fans who love his musical style.
So today I bring into the Black Diamond Experience Soul Saaanger Will Downing and let the Prince of Soul do what he does best on this Part 1 called “Will’s Groove”. You know the routine from here Will….YOU BETTA SAAAAAAANG BROTHER!!!

Along with legends like Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Gregory Issacs, Dennis Brown, Beres Hammond, Shabba Ranks, Beenie Man and Sean Paul just to name a few. By the mid-1990s, Buju Banton was a reggae/dancehall movement releasing dancehall hits, along with pop, dance songs, as well as songs dealing with sociopolitical topics. Banton converted to the Rastafari faith in the mid-nineties, and his music undertook a more spiritual tone and message, but the hits kept on coming and Buju's legacy was cemented.
Buju Banton maybe the most influential, important and successful reggae artist of the 1990's into the 2000's. Although he is currently incarcerated on drug and firearms related charges, he’s due to be released in December 2018. His music meanwhile serves as his gift to the world. So today, I give to you "Gargamel" himself, the musical genius of "The Rasta With Soul" The Voice of Jamaica BUJU BANTON...#TheRastaRidesAgain

They are reggae artists, singers, sannngers and then the legends who go by one name only....Beres, Bob, Gregory, Dennis, Frankie, Cocoa and Sanchez. For well over 30 years Beres has been one of the pioneers of Lovers Rock Reggae. His smoky voice is unmistakable once its hits a track and smooth, sexy classic reggae usually are the results that follow after that.
Whether its light dancehall, conscious roots reggae, hip-hop fusion, or straight-up contemporary R&B Beres stands out. To put it in its proper context I would call him Jamaica's Marvin Gaye with the way he sings songs of love from a common man's view.
So I wanted to give you just the music so you can njoy with no extras. So grab a drink and grab someone close for a visit to the love doctor. No does does it like Beres Njoy the Beres Experience #OneLoveOneLifeOneSongBeresHammond

There is nothing really to detail about EWF's music their catalogue of hits speaks for itself. Earth, Wind & Fire has entertained fans around the world for decades, and established themselves as arguably one of the best bands assembled in music history. In addition to selling 100+ million records worldwide and winning six Grammys, Earth, Wind & Fire has had numerous Gold, Platinum and Multi-Platinum chart-topping albums and singles. The band was also inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2000. Making EWF one of the best selling, decorated and awarded bands of all time.
There is no sound like the EWF sound, it has been one of a kind for going on 45 years and counting. The tracks are timeless, the voices blended like a smoothie and the funk was straight up “STANK” It is my distinct pleasure to bring to you this 2 part experience of in my humble opinion the best band ever assembled…ladies and gentlemen…EARTH WIND & FIRE....ALL IN THE NAME OF LOVE.

LL came on the scene and has been killing it since 1984, and is not only a music icon but a fashion trendsetter ,MC, actor, entrepreneur, fitness phenom, father and activist, and does it all well! He is truly represents everything that’s good about Hip Hop. From the start of his storied career, LL Cool J has simultaneously been kicking rough, lyrical rhymes and got mad respect from the hardrocks, thugs and BBoys. When they were looking the other way tho’ he was making music to sweet-talk their honeys and make hip hop love songs for the lover in all hip hop hard rocks. No one put love in a hip hop tune like L.L. that why the ladies always love him….and the fellaz respect him.
L.L. popularized the phrase The G.O.A.T. which stands for Greatest. Of. All. Time. As Hip Hop reinvented itself many times over 30 years, so has LL Cool J and alot of artists have L' to thank for their careers. So I tip my Kangol to the ICON "Uncle L" for Doin' it and Doin it' and Doin' it well for decades!!! Njoy this tribute to a legendary MC and a legendary man. #SimplyCoolJ

House music has always been a spiritual thing to me and the dancers are like its disciples your footwork is your own expression whichever way the music moves you no way is the right/wrong way It’s all spiritually individual there is an emphasis on the rhythms, message and riffs of the music, and footwork follows them closely.
So this “Housework” journey is made with the dancer in mind, with some classic dance . deep tribal, vocal house and hard driving beats and all made to move your spirit. I also wanted to pay a small tribute to Stevie Wonder who turned 65 this past week so salute to one of the Living Legends of music and his contribution to the house music community. So to all my dancers, church is in session, just bring your powder and your footwork…I will take care of the rest. Njoy!!!]]>

https://hearthis.at/mv9krd6f/black-diamond-mic-klub-nas-is-still-matic/
Nas’ sudden impact on hip-hop came in 1991 when he guest collaborated on a song titled “Live at the Barbeque” with hip-hop acts Main Source, Akinyele and Fatal. It was his 16 bars that made Nas forever remembered as the birth of a hip-hop king in the making. Nas’ greatness is not just rooted in his writing alone but in the topics/concepts of his song. Longevity is one reason for Nas’ greatness. As long as Nas is alive and continues to make music, he holds the title as one of the Ironmen of hip-hop. Many rappers have either stopped or lost the appeal of the fans for staying relevant. Especially as the years go on and the sound of hip-hop continues to evolve and change. Nas has managed to carry his music during the times and likely has gained new fans from a younger audience.
Back in 1994 he released the most iconic album of its time "Illmatic" which has been called a Hip Hop Bible. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release I've put together a tribute to Nas Escobar, Nasty Nas, The Don Nasir Jones. Njoy the ride as you see the world through the eyes of a street poet of the highest caliber. #SimplyNas #NasEscobar #StillMatic #NasOneLove #NasMrOneMic

Tupac Amaru Shakur aka “2Pac Shakur” was named after an Inca warrior, leader and revolutionary so it goes without saying he was exactly that to Hip Hop. 2Pac was without question the most influential, controversial, thought provoking and polarizing artist in the history of rap music. To call 2Pac just an MC is like calling Michelangelo "Another guy who had a paint brush and a chisel," Pac' was so much more than that.
2Pac was a voice of a generation, he was a visionary, poet, activist, actor, revolutionary, ghetto philosopher and sex symbol. He articulated the pains and emotions of the nation and gave a "voice" to the voiceless like no other. Tupac was an exceptional rapper, he not only talked about political issues but he also talked about issues that were deeply personal and self reflective. He rapped about a society, a country, a race and the very core of humanity. In my opinion he was the greatest Hip Hop artist of all time. Welcome 2 the return of Makaveli...like he ever left.

One of the keys to Vega’s success is his knack for refusing to being boxed into any one category, not only reflected in the various music styles his songs play with, but by his fruitful collaborations with other artists. And so more success came in 1991 from the production team he created with Brooklyn-based deejay Kenny “Dope” Gonzalez. Masters at Work. So, Happy “House Summer” 2016, no better way to celebrate the sunshine than with the musik of the Legend LOUIE VEGA.
Louie Vega has painted an award-winning career from a palette mixed with everything from salsa, latin, tribal, afro-beat, classic disco, to jazz, hip-hop, R&B and soul. I choose to believe Louie puts the “Musik” into “House Music” Thanks for the inspiration and the timeless ear candy over the years Louie, and for keeping this culture diverse and alive. You are simply musical genius personified. Hope I did your work justice….Tribute to a living legend.

Prince has produced ten platinum albums, thirty Top 40 singles and has written and produced hundreds of songs for other artists throughout his storied musical journey. He has sold over 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling artists of all time. He has won seven Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe, and an Academy Award. He was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.
Although, greatness is subjective, I believed him to be the greatest entertainer of our generation….all respects to MJ and James Brown but they pale in comparison in my opinion to “The Artist.” Prince's music has inflections of rock, R&B, soul, funk, hip hop, blues, new wave, electronica, disco, psychedelia, folk, jazz, and pop…he simply was a musical genius. His music defied genres and Prince didn’t follow trends, he set them…and many others tried to follow. So let’s take a musical journey and celebrate the musical genius of a man like no other Prince.
So, let’s do this BlackDiamondSoul Style in the Purple Rain. #R.I.PURPLEPARADISEPRINCE. There will never be another like you. I’m glad to have witnessed greatness at work. Welcome 2 The Purple Experience!!!

“I don’t know what sex appeal is. I don’t think you can have sex appeal knowingly. The people who seduce me personally are the people who seem not to know they’re seductive, and not to know they have sex appeal. {Omar Shariff}
When it comes to the Art of Seduction no other musical instruments speaks more erotically than the “Sex-a-phone aka the Sax”. More than any other, the saxophone is the musical instrument of romance, and romantic sax music touches and emotes more passion in more hearts than any other kind of musical instrument. As a lover of all things romance I wanted to put together something monumental with a mixture of soul, spoken word, neo-soul and off course sensual jazz cuts for a seductive, sensual one of kind experience.
The aim of this experience is a journey of and evening in musical seduction from 7p.m to 7a.m. The songs are chosen to be a backdrop for dancing to dining to dessert and to sensual decadence into a passionate morning after. It is a mix of some of my personal favorite contemporary jazz sax, soul and spoken artists for a night of “Saxual Seduction”. So come journey with Black Diamond through a seductive, soulful, erotic, jazz experience. Let the seduction begin…..

Teddy, began his singing career singing is local Philly churches and as a drummer. He went on to star as the main voice of the legendary soul group Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes. Teddy created a new template for the soul singer in the 70’s and 80’s with his aggressive brand of soul and his smooth, sensual ladies’-man image on songs that were sexually charged but never abrasive or vulgar. Teddy Bear’s solo career was successful and prolific with many platinum hit albums produced by the hit duo Gamble and Huff of Philly fame.
Teddy was known to be the first soul artist to sell out, and perform “Ladies Only Concerts” When Teddy walked out on the stage, he didn’t even open his mouth and the place went crazy with screaming females. He was just so dynamic, and when he started singing, he just blew them away.” Women were known to throw panties and other female adornments on stage at the sexual icon. Teddy Pendergrass became a Soul Singer Women’s Fantasy.
The singer’s life was forever altered in 1982 when he crashed his Rolls Royce in Philadelphia, leaving the then-31-year-old singer paralyzed from the waist down. The powerful, seductive persona that Pendergrass had honed in his peak years had been diminished in the aftermath of the crash, as was the strength of his voice, but Pendergrass was not entirely deterred by his challenge. He continued to record sporadically throughout the 1980s, and in 1990’s. Unfortunately, Pendergrass was diagnosed with colon cancer and succumbed to the disease in January of 2010. It’s fair to say that we will never see the combination of voice, sex appeal, talent and raw soulful energy again.
So, let’s spend and evening of soulful sensual bliss with the one and only Teddy Bear…COME ON AND GO WITH ME, CLOSE THE DOOR, TURN OF THE LIGHTS, LET’S HAVE SOME JOY AND FEELTHE FIRE CAUSE’ YOUR MY CHOICE 2NITE. SAAAAAANG TEDDY!!!
